October is SIDS, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The video below really spoke to me. I was lucky to carry and give birth to two beautiful children, but a lot of women are not so lucky. They go through a lot of grief and heartache and they should not have to suffer in silence.
We decided in April 2015 to try to have another baby. When I became pregnant after the first try I wanted to shout it from the roof top! I was so happy that we were going to grow our family. On June 3 2015, my husband and I lost our baby. It took a long time to deal with this loss as we dealt with it in silence. As mothers, we are told not to say that we are pregnant until we reach 3 months because there is a high rate of miscarriage. Due to the stigma of miscarriages and infant loss that is what we did. When I lost the baby I was upset, but I had to brush it off because I didn’t tell anyone why I was so upset. I don’t understand why talking about pregnancy loss is still a taboo subject.
I was lucky that I tried again and gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Some women get pregnant, but they cannot give birth to their children. Losing a child is a very emotional thing to go through, so let’s break the stigma so no one has to suffer alone!
A very moving post, Tracey. ~ Alison

It isn’t easy publishing something so personal, and I can imagine how difficult this must have been for you. I look forward to your posts, and I believe that in sharing a part of your world, you will be able to discover solutions that would have been difficult otherwise.

Thank you. It was very great to get it off my mind. It is not something people like to talk about or hear about.
